Veal Milanese - Cotoletta alla Milanese 360g x 2 Pieces
Veal Milanese is one of the most famous dishes of traditional Italian cuisine. It was born in Lombardy, a region in northern Italy. This dish has now become synonymous with the city of Milan. These were first prepared in Milan in 1134 and were a favourite of the Monks of St. Ambrogio (a church in the centre of the city).
Veal Milanese is a butterflied and pounded lean veal cutlet that has been crusted with a pebbly coating of bread crumbs.
The Veal used for our version of this traditional dish are carefully selected from the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. These Calves are humanely raised in the natural way on their mother’s milk, and in open pastures with access to the very best feed. The undeniable quality of this Veal is backed by its tenderness, juiciness, pink colour and flavour.
This Restaurant quality product would normally set you back $50.00 a plate at the finest Italian eatery - we are offering you this same quality Veal for half the price.
Cook this cutlet as you would a schnitzel in hot high quality olive oil until golden brown. These beauties are crumbed and prepared in house daily and ready for you to fry. Serve the Veal alongside a large wedge of lemon for squeezing, wilted greens and a fresh rocket salad.
